I used to skip breakfast. Not once or twice a week, but all of the time. I knew this was definitely not a good for my health, but I thought I had no choice. I was convinced I had no time, however I was very wrong. There are so many quick and easy ways to put something together in the mornings, whether you’re a student or a parent on-the-go. Yogurt parfaits became a quick favourite for my mornings since they are fruit-filled, and you can sprinkle them with toppings to kick up the nutrients factor.
So I’ve been MIA for a few weeks, so what have I been up to? I launched my YouTube channel! This is something I have thought about doing for years, but the perfectionist in me was holding me back. Finally, I decided to take the leap. So far, it has been a pleasure creating, editing and producing content for my channel. But it is no easy job!
A terrible and awful accident happened to one of my favourite makeup babies this weekend. My everyday go-to item fell off my makeup shelf in my bathroom and crashed onto my toilet seat. Classy, I know! All because I was keeping my toddler from using the bathroom sink like it was a birth bath at Central Park. As I swung around to grab her, I bumped my holy grail of highlighter, Becca Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop, off the shelf. Watching this baby fall was one of my worst nightmares. When I opened it up I prayed to all the saints that it was all in one piece, but unfortunately it was not my lucky day. Fortunately, I was able to bring it back to life thanks to a little makeup and DIY related knowledge. Of course, I’m sharing this with you because this nightmare can happen to any of us.
About two months ago, I noticed a post on Chatelaine Magazine’s Facebook page about a casting call for mothers and daughters as they were looking to examine the unique relationship for a special in their May issue. Little did I know that my email would catch the attention of the team at Chatelaine Magazine and that I would receive a response with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The results? My mom and I are featured and sharing intimate details about our relationship in the May 2016 issue of Chatelaine Magazine!
Remember when I wrote about pregnancy hair changes and how your hair changes so incredibly much after you have the baby? Well, I’ve noticed that my hair has been flat and dull for the last year or so. As a result, I’ve been on the look-out for a shampoo and conditioner set to really boost up my hair and bring it back to life.
BBDO India has won a Glass Lion for the ad I’m about to show you at the 2015’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. If you ask me, the award was more than well deserved. The message of this ad, for the Ariel brand (P&G India), is one that I think about all the time. The situation behind the powerful ad is not one that may be common in Indian culture, but in Latin American culture as well.
I was recently sent a Biore VoxBox by my friends at Influenster Canada. As always, I was very excited to receive one, but this one was extra special. I was particularly looking forward to this as I had experienced a few skin changes recently from starting to wear make-up on the daily again. Let’s just say my skin was not at its best!
When I hear these 90’s songs, they bring me back. They bring me right back to the little girl that loved to sing and dance in the living room of my home back in Peru, or the sassy girl that immigrated to Canada and tried so hard to hang on to any aspect of her Latinidad that she could. When I though about writing this post and began compiling the songs, it was SO hard to pick which ones to include. I spent quite a bit of time reminiscing and singing along; as well as laughing at all the cheesiness of all these videos!
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS SHOW!
Remember when I shared the Fuller House Teaser in December? Well, here’s the Fuller House Trailer! There is no doubt that on February 26th I will be completely unavailable as I will be binge watching Fuller House along with my hubby and Zoey.
Yes, I said it. The Elle Canada March 2016 cover is truly Canadian; and I am loving every bit of it! The March 2016 special issue, titled “Meet The New Wave”, blew up on my social media feeds this morning; and as I was about to post it on Instagram, I realized that it deserved its very own post. The upcoming issue includes exclusive interviews with three young, and very well known, Canadian women who are not only stunning but so incredibly talented!
