“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page” — Saint Augustine
I’m heading to Montreal this weekend and I’m super excited! I’m going to see one of my favourite artists live, and one that I’ve wanted to see in concert since I was s little girl. Eva Ayllon is the Celine Dion of Peru, she is a cultural staple, and she will be performing this Saturday at Théâtre Denise-Pelletier.
While I’m in Peru I eat A LOT. No regrets and no second thoughts, I enjoy every bite. With 2 restaurants in the top 10 of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Peru is one of the world’s leading culinary destinations. Between my love of food, and Peru’s culinary recognition, how could I could I not help myself? During my last visit, one of the restaurants that truly stood out was Segundo Muelle. I attended their location in the Boulevard de Asia and fell in love. I can’t wait to go back!
I was nervous, overwhelmed, excited and so much more. I planned for months to travel with my 2 year old on a plane for the first time; her very first airplane trip and the very first time I traveled with her solo. I couldn’t wait for this trip as we were going on vacation to my favourite place on earth: Lima, Peru.
A few weeks ago, I got back from Lima, Peru…. Oh, how I love that city! There is nothing like the food, the pacific ocean breeze, the sunshine and so much more. Even though I was born there, when I go to Lima I am a tourist in my own home. I moved to Canada when I was 7 so there is so much that I don’t remember about Lima (or so much I don’t know from how far it has developed), but my family and childhood memories keep my ties so incredibly close to the city. Since I visit Lima frequently, it is my pleasure to share my fave places to visit in Lima, Peru, as well as give you an insider’s look into the city and all it has to offer.
