I am VERY excited about this new activewear line. No, it has nothing to do with the fact that it’s co-founded by Beyonce — okay, maybe a little. I can’t put my finger on the exact factor, but it has really caught my attention. Could it be all the black? (My staple colour) Could it be what the brand represents? Or because I simply want to support a fellow bootylicious girl that I trust will make clothing that will actually flatter my shape? Whatever it may be, I have all the details of where to shop the collection – Ivy Park has arrived.
The rights of girls and women around the world is a theme that is very close to my heart; I picked up interest on this from a very young age. That’s why news like the newest Sesame Street puppet, Zari, make me VERY happy! She is joining Sesame Street in Afghanistan via Baghch-e-SimSim, the local Afghan co-production, for Season 5.
Remember when I wrote about pregnancy hair changes and how your hair changes so incredibly much after you have the baby? Well, I’ve noticed that my hair has been flat and dull for the last year or so. As a result, I’ve been on the look-out for a shampoo and conditioner set to really boost up my hair and bring it back to life.
BBDO India has won a Glass Lion for the ad I’m about to show you at the 2015’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. If you ask me, the award was more than well deserved. The message of this ad, for the Ariel brand (P&G India), is one that I think about all the time. The situation behind the powerful ad is not one that may be common in Indian culture, but in Latin American culture as well.
I was recently sent a Biore VoxBox by my friends at Influenster Canada. As always, I was very excited to receive one, but this one was extra special. I was particularly looking forward to this as I had experienced a few skin changes recently from starting to wear make-up on the daily again. Let’s just say my skin was not at its best!
When I hear these 90’s songs, they bring me back. They bring me right back to the little girl that loved to sing and dance in the living room of my home back in Peru, or the sassy girl that immigrated to Canada and tried so hard to hang on to any aspect of her Latinidad that she could. When I though about writing this post and began compiling the songs, it was SO hard to pick which ones to include. I spent quite a bit of time reminiscing and singing along; as well as laughing at all the cheesiness of all these videos!
For the very first time, there are 3 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2016 covers. Normally, I wouldn’t bat an eye at this, but this year is particularly special as the covers are a showcase of the diversity in women’s bodies. This is a big step forward as most covers we see in newsstands, particularly when they feature models in bathing suits, only highlight a very particular body type. The celebration of various body shapes that the SI Swimsuits 2016 covers have featured is something I would love to see more of in the future. It’s empowering!
I am SO excited for this long weekend! Saturdays and Sundays fly by and I find myself wishing for a day in between; and it has also been TOO long since the last long weekend. I’m particularly excited about this year as we’ll be able to do something fun with our little lady! Last year, she was still too little to truly enjoy any activities in the city. While I was looking for Family Day activities for this weekend, I ran into so many wonderful options. I wish we could make it to all of them!
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS SHOW!
Remember when I shared the Fuller House Teaser in December? Well, here’s the Fuller House Trailer! There is no doubt that on February 26th I will be completely unavailable as I will be binge watching Fuller House along with my hubby and Zoey.
