“It is the most powerful creation for you to be able to have life growing inside of you. There is no bigger gift. Nothing more empowering” — Beyoncè
Did you know that Well.ca has a store in Toronto? The online shop has a physical location at Shops At Don Mills which opened earlier this summer to the public. This is perfect for those who aren’t sure about online shopping just yet, or for those that want to see the products for themselves before buying some more online. I was invited to the VIP Grand Opening of the shop and had a grand time; it was also my little Zo-Zo’s first media event and she (capital L) Loved it!
Having a new baby is VERY exciting. Whether it’s your first or your fourth, there’s no doubt that your family and friends will want to come see your new little bundle, or expect you to be at social events and bring the new baby along. Here’s some of my best new mom advice: If you’re not up for it, it’s okay to say “no”.
Your hair changes MAJORLY during and after your pregnancy. Even a year after my pregnancy, my hair is quite different than what it was prior to having a little bun in the oven. My biggest change came a few months after giving birth to my baby, thanks to my dear friends, hormones. (more…)
As I planned for my baby’s birth, I wanted the very best of everything and I wanted it all! I, from the bottom of my heart, felt like I needed it all. I was all about the baby splurges! As her birth approached, I felt pressure to get everything I thought I needed to be prepared, but quickly realized how expensive having a baby can really be. So what do you need? What do you not actually purchase? What do you splurge on?
If there is one thing that I was fascinated by when I became a mother it was how close I felt to nature. I was in awe of how my animalistic instincts, as well as my baby’s, came into play within my our new roles as mommy and baby. I noticed this most when I was breastfeeding, especially during the first few days while still at the hospital. How does she just know? How does my body just know? It’s amazing the connection that is established between mothers and the needs of their newborn babies
During my pregnancy, I noticed something on the red carpets of Hollywood that I had never paid much attention to before; pregnant celebrities look so damn fabulous! Before I experienced pregnancy, I didn’t think much of it other than “Wow, she looks great!”. After experiencing pregnancy, I now KNOW why they look so great!…They are in hiding all throughout the first trimester!
Don’t get me wrong, kudos to them for working through pregnancy, showing up for red carpet events and meeting many expectations that come along with stardom; but let’s face it, their images are not a true representation of what pregnancy is like.
Meanwhile they look like this…
