Wedding Planning

Today I’m celebrating the two year anniversary of my perfect wedding day. It’s made me feel so nostalgic about one of the best days of my life. I’ve been thinking about the details, the overall experience, and all the emotions I felt. April 4, 2015 will be a day I will hold so dear to my heart forever.

My Perfect Wedding Day

I like to call this day my “big wedding”. The reason for this is that my husband and I had separate civil and religious weddings; our civil ceremony happened in 2013, and our religious ceremony was in 2015 at Hockley Valley Resort. We originally planned to marry a year after our civil ceremony, however I got pregnant with ZoZo a few months later. I would have been 8 months pregnant by our original big wedding date, and there was no way my perfect Kleinfeld Bridal gown was going to fit then! Funny enough, it’s like my trip to Kleinfeld in NYC gave us a little luck since ZoZo was conceived shortly after. <3

Okay, let’s get to the details……

My Perfect Wedding Video

I’m not crying, you’re crying…. lol

So I decided to get right to the juice stuff right away. There is so much more captured than what’s in this video, however the way this video is edited perfectly captures the essence of my husband and I. It is honest, raw and eternal love. Okay, that was really cheesy (especially for me!), but that’s the truth.

Fun Fact:

The song in the video, Volvi A Nacer by Carlos Vives, is one of our favourites. We have been playing this song since we started dating and it’s always been special to us. It was perfect for this video. Our wedding song though, was Para Tu Amor by Juanes.

My Perfect Wedding Photography

I love getting my picture taken, it’s no secret. Also, I’m always ready for a photo! So as you can imagine, I was over the moon about the idea of all the photography that my wedding was going to include. As ZoZo was born 4 months before our wedding day, it was so beautiful that she was included in these photos and in our special day.

Okay, let’s get to the pictures:

Fun Fact:

ZoZo wore a dress that was once mine. It was the dress I was baptized in. It’s amazing that my parents had kept it all these years. We got some beautiful little shoes for her, a headband, and she was all set! She looked beyond precious.

I do have to mention that my wedding videography and photography vendors were New Vintage Media. Their team is so talented and it was a true pleasure working with them.

This post is only the beginning of all that I plan to share in relation to my perfect wedding day. As part of #AWeddingSoiree series, I plan to share various aspects of, and leading up to, my wedding day. From the proposal, to planning the big day, and even compromising on a budget, I’ll have posts that will include some major details. I truly hope the upcoming posts serve as a guide if you’re planning your big day in the near future.
