I am SO excited for this long weekend! Saturdays and Sundays fly by and I find myself wishing for a day in between; and it has also been TOO long since the last long weekend. I’m particularly excited about this year as we’ll be able to do something fun with our little lady! Last year, she was still too little to truly enjoy any activities in the city. While I was looking for Family Day activities for this weekend, I ran into so many wonderful options. I wish we could make it to all of them!
Family Day Activities
Family Day 2016 at the KGO
The Art Gallery of Ontario will be turning into the KIDS Gallery of Ontario for Family Day from 10:30am-4pm. Kids will be taking over with events like family yoga, superhero self portraits, a donut dance party and so much more! You can get the info on all the fun here.
HarbourKIDS puts on the best events for families throughout the year. For Family Day 2016, they will give families a chance to interact with the snowglobe inspired installation and learn what it feels like to be inside of one. What I love most about this event is that they’ll have a Nursing Room for the families that need it. Get all the info here.
Family Snow Day Toronto 2016
If you’re looking to make a difference this Family Day, you can join in at the 5k horseshoe event down the Don Valley trail, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. There will be plenty of activities for the whole family, even if your little ones aren’t up for a 5k adventure. The event will run on Family Day from 10am-3pm. Get more info here.
TIFF Family Day 2016

If your little one loves music, then this is an event you definitely have to check out! Get all the info here.
Family Day Weekend at The Science Centre
There will be so many programs available at The Science Centre throughout the weekend, even for the littlest ones in the family. From a papermaking demo, to an “Eyes on the Skies” presentation at the Planetarium, to another presentation about Science on 2 Wheels; the whole family will be super entertained! Get all the info here.
SuperDude and Doctor Rude
A musical created at kids that parents will love too! There’s no doubt that The Second City is sure to bring on laughs for the whole family. Make sure to order your tickets early as this is going to be a very popular event. This event runs all weekend long. You can get your tickets here.
Family Day in the City
The City of Toronto is holding a Special Family Day Skating Party from 1-4pm on February 15th. This free event includes so many activities for the whole family, including a DJ too! So have your family bring out their very best dance moves on skates! You can get more info, and a list to other free events in the city, here.
This weekend we’ll be making a super special family dinner at home to celebrate Valentine’s Day (avoiding the dinner time chaos at restaurants!) and taking Zoey on her first adventure “under the sea” at Ripley’s Aquarium. My husband and I are VERY excited for this! I may push for a visit to the AGO too!
