Musica Latina de los 90 - Mana, Fey, Garibaldi - 90's songs

When I hear these 90’s songs, they bring me back. They bring me right back to the little girl that loved to sing and dance in the living room of my home back in Peru, or the sassy girl that immigrated to Canada and tried so hard to hang on to any aspect of her Latinidad that she could. When I though about writing this post and began compiling the songs, it was SO hard to pick which ones to include. I spent quite a bit of time reminiscing and singing along; as well as laughing at all the cheesiness of all these videos!

90’s Songs List

The 90s were THE BEST for music. What I love most about this era of music is that many of these artists transitioned into the English music market/industry in the 00’s. When the Latin Grammys came to be, or when Shakira was featured in TRL  with “Hips Don’t Lie”, I could proudly say that I owned that artist’s cassette as a child!

Get ready to dance….I present to you, my favourite 90’s music that Latinos will never forget:

Garibaldi – Banana

Mana – De Pies A Cabeza

Joe Luciano – El Baile De La Botella

Gloria Trevi – Pelo Suelto

DLG – Muevete

Fey – Media Naranja

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs – Matador

Shakira – Ciega, Sordamuda

Proyecto Uno – El Tiburon

This last song is one of my all time favourites! My husband and I sing this one at home all the time for the laughs and giggles. I dedicate this next track to all my Peruvians; especially those that moved away from home like I did once upon a time. Nosequien Y Los Nosecuantos are a staple of “Rock Peruano”.

Los Nosequien Y Los Nosecuantos – Las Torres

I hope you sang and danced like I do every time I hear these tunes 🙂
